And last
"The only politician afraid of armed citizens are corrupt politicians.." One of our founding fathers said that, but I cant remember who right now..
Just remember once you loose the 2nd the others will follow,,
The 2nd,, right to keep and bear arms,, is not for hunting,, but its to keep the civilian public armed in case they need to defend themselves from thier own government and be able to take back control in case the government becomes too powerful or tries to take away the peoples rights..
Ummm, I think no..

The Constitution said:
Amendment II

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not
be infringed.
Read this, more info than I want to post

'cause voting for a government that won't do that is too hard and will result in too much bloodshed?

With the idiot right wingers yelling things like "Kill him" (About O) at McCain rallies...
Hasn't the audio on that video already been proven a fraud? No one present at the event heard "kill him" uttered, and those on the video registered absolutely no response when we hear it said on the audio.

I'm sure some would like conclude there was no response because McCain didn't care, but that would be a very poor response from someone politically astute.

It's entirely possible the "kill him" audio bit was added later.

Here a citizen journalist captures the bigotry and knuckle-dragging stupidity of punters at a Sarah Palin campaign rally,

Fvcking depressing really. :(
And there aren't just as many morons at Obama rallies?

When the journalist was editing the video, which interviews do you think made the final cut? The smartest punters or the dumbest? Hmmm...

Videos such as this are of zero value; all it proves it that there were some morons at the rally. You can't assume everyone at the rally is just as ignorant. That would be prejudice and it's never acceptable, from the right or the left.

I'm sure lots of folks here would agree with this statement:

"This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilised nation has full gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!"

Dude, catch up, will ya? The kill him thing was disproved two weeks ago...

McCain already showed himself to be a quasi good dude when he told the fat broad bashing Obama to STFU at the rally ten days ago.

"Obama is the best chance for this nation to rise up again in the eyes of the world, heal itself, and cure the ailments inflicted upon it by the past 8 years of idiocy wrought upon it by an overachieving idiot and his gang of bratty rich kids"
Fixed it for ya...no charge.

I would bet that some republicans have tried by now...... Guess they couldn't find enough mouth breathers to record for a whole youtube vid. ;)

Ok that said. I think you missed the point of my post (or more likely I did not make it clear enough for some) I was actually meaning that it is depressing that there are sufficient numbers on ANY SIDE of the political divide to be able to make an attack video like that. :disgust1:

Certainly I know there are more than a few members of the political party I'm a member of that I could happily line up and use to practice my golf swing on. :twitch:

I could go on and on about a few civilian militia types against a trained fighting force,, but over the years it has been proven all over the world.. When civilians are defending their homes from an oppressive government it can get ugly and take years.. look at when the USSR tried to take Afghanistan,, ,, or what is happening now in Afghanistan and Iraq.. Its handfuls of "insurgents" that are holding back total control of the US military.. I believe the US military will win this, but at what cost.. And other democracy's have fallen before and if not careful can happen here.. Hell,, just the fact of the patriot act and the issues in Florida last election,, and Ohio this election should have people thinking.. You know what a constitution free zone is right?? look it up on aclu.org,, you might not sleep as good after tho..
And that site explaining the constitution was nice,, but use your history books,, its easier to see what they meant by militia.. They also believed every able man was to be armed and part of his local militia, just in case.. luckily,, we do vote every 4 years,, well,, what is it like 3 or 4 out of ten vote??
"If you dont stand for something you can fall for anything,," even country songs get it right once in a while,,

Look at other democracies that have fallen..either fully or partially.. What if elections were suspended due to Martial law was enacted,, I know a stretch,, but in theory it could,,
thank god our four fathers wrote in many check and balances or we would all be screwed buy now,, With illegal search and seizure and all that,, oh wait,, patriot act..

Will East-Baltimore be any safer?
Will Watts be any safer?
Will Compton be any safer?
Will inner city areas of Chicago, New York, and Detroit be any safer?

I suppose you don't really care though.

I'm pretty far from being an advocate of a universal gun ban.

What I was trying to point out is the total illogic in thinking that the police force is more efficient, and the streets are safer due to "full gun registration".

Personally, I think gun-crime is easier to relate to poverty than gun laws; call me socialist...

You hit the point perfectly. You can have all the gun laws you want, crimes are committed with mostly non-registered guns, allthough I might question the poverty driven part. I'd have to say drug related is more accurate, but that opens the question as to why are inner city youth selling drugs? Money of course.

Drugs, crime, and guns are all byproducts of poverty...treat the disease, not the symptoms.

what's ironic is that you bandy about stats, but defer to raw numbers instead of the more telling per-capita stats.

here ya go: http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_mur_percap-crime-murders-per-capita

oh, did you even stop to notice that only 1/3 of countries are listed, and the most populous one is notoriously absent? is your curiosity only matched by your intellect, or by your desire to arrive at an a-priori conclusion?

Relying on that abortion of a site to prove anything one way or the other is like relying on me to mind your beer.

just when i thought you couldn't post anything stupider.

it's like atomicasshat, pit-steelers, & psp all gizzed into a unicorn & out came you on the altar of a mormon pr0n set.

at least try to make the effort to anticipate how your fundamentally flawed post will be met. also, pretend that you have a basic understanding of humanity, and that [ed: 'lack of'] money isn't the root of all evil, [but rather the 'love of']. all you'd have to do is look where the money is & then tell us all how there can possibly be both violent & non-violent crime, and drugs, and guns...

go ahead, neg rep me again. it sure requires far less effort on your part than actually putting your brain in a fwd gear.
