Well i build up a SS on-one gimp for DJ/STREET sessions now i need a trail bike

So after looking at the geo of the gimp(wich are pretty good for climbing) i said to myself why not convert the gimp.

The present setup
24" version of the gimp
-dual 24" wheels
-dj2 fork 125mm
-smack daddy bmx cranks
-on-one stem/HB
-rear v-brake only

Thinking of adding an internal rear speed hub(shimano nexus 8speed)
and 2 disc brakes

The bikes weighs in right now at 35lbs

What do you guys think to convert or not to convert??

Hell No! I wouldn't convert the gimp, its way too nice the way it is! Why would you want to ruin a good thing? Keep it as is and get something else for a trail bike.

jesus drop that damn fork down to at a minimum of 100mm if not 80. you will rip the headtube off that bike and it will/does ride like crap

I agree the gimp will probably ride better and look better with the fork travel reduced. :)

I dunno about making it into a trail bike. Lots of people use it for that though.

Dude, how is that bike 35lbs?
:stupid:

yeah, thats what I was thinking! I have a 26" gimp, deity bars and stem, the biggest s/s chain kmc makes, bmx cranks, sun Mammoth rims, a woodman s/s rear hub with steal bolt on axel, and a LX v brake, and it weighs right around 30-31 lbs. I don't think it weighs 35!. Especially with that model dj. That model wasn't that heavy.
