Okay so I have a 2001 White Brothers DH2 dual crown fork that I have up for sale right now. It was on my Cheeta Prowler this summer and I recently took it off the Prowler in favor of a 5" travel single crown fork.

the DH2 has been for sale for a few weeks with nobody really making any great offers - well one guy from Italy is interested in it (I don't think he's a scam artist, but man that would mean shipping the fork overseas!).

So should I keep the fork and throw it on the Cheeta for next Season's DH days or should I continue to try and sell it and use that money to put towards a new frame to replace my Balfa Belair.

As of this morning and my drive back to the office from Storrs, CT - I'm thinking that I should just keep the DH2, get a 7" Avid rotor (anyone got a spare they don't need?) for the 20mm front wheel I still have and then throw the DC fork onto the Cheeta for the DH trips I plan to make.

What do you monkeys think I should do? Should the fork stay or should it go?

How much DHing are you planning on doing?
Can the 5" SC fork handle any DHing?
How much do you think the fork would sell for?
How far are you from affording the new frame?
Do you have all the parts for the new frame?

If you're not planning on doing much DHing, or if the 5" fork can handle it, I say sell it. If you plan on doing a lot of DHilling and/or the 5" fork can't handle DH, you'll probably end up kicking yourself for selling it - so in that case, hold onto it.

If you are close to affording the frame, and selling the fork would put you over the top, I say sell it. If you are still a long ways off from being able to afford the new frame, hold onto it until the extra cash will make a difference.

Since you have no other DH worthy bike, I'd say keep the White Bros.

It makes your Prowler truly "DH-worthy", which it is not with the single crown. That's not to say you can't DH with the single crown - you certainly can - but I think the DC option makes the bike that much more versitile.

You should never reduce the number of bike parts you own. You should only accumulate.

Keep it and install another crown race on it. That way, it'll take your ~5 minutes to swap the fork on the bike. :)

Yep a second crown race will be the way to go methinks Flipside. Just need that and another 7" Avid rotor.

So who's got an extra rotor they want to unload cheaply?? ;) :)
