So Spongebob and Bert and Ernie and Barney are all gay and Shrek hangs out with dangerous perverts. Actually I might agree on the Barney accusation.

What about pervs like Spiderman who cavort around in tight leotards or Batman who must be some kind of Furry? Or that longhaired guy in the Bible who liked to wash women's feet wherever he went? Man, that's sick. Thank god the Traditional Values Coalition is around and vigilant to protect us from all these hidden threats.

You're forgetting to thank Jerry Falwell for making us aware of the threat to society that is the Teletubbies. Apparently every TV character that I was raised on is gay and my two favorite super-heros are perverts. Unfortunately for the Traditional Values Coalition, I'm straight.

So far, the coalition's "gaydar" doesn't seem to have picked up on DreamWorks' Shark Tale, in which a shark mafioso, voiced by Robert DeNiro, must come to terms with the fact he has a vegetarian son who likes to dress up as a dolphin.
Baaahahaha...gaydar....baaaahahhaha

And yet very conservative and Christian Alan Keyes manages to raise a lesbian.

The irony is almost enough to make me believe in God...

Maybe instead of anaylzing every cartoon for some subversive agenda and monitoring world events so we can update our "Rapture Threat Level", maybe the church needs to spend that time feeding and giving medinice to those millions of people in south Asia.

I get sick of the constant whining of Christians, instead of whining and reacting to culture we should be influencing it and right now we are not doing a very good job. How about instead of whining about cartoons, provide a "non-lame" alternative - maybe something not so overtly "Jesus" but gets a message across like unconditional love or something like that.

I'm glad the Traditional Values Coalition is there so I don't have to think for myself  (which BTW is a contradiction to Scripture)

Hopefully he uses that as an opportunity to demonstrate the unconditional love of God in a real way to his daughter as an example for the world to see.

Well, as of now, he's disowned her.

You're probably tired of applause, but thanks anyhow. It's so heartening to hear sense instead of hysterical nonsense. Then again, it's dis-heartening that you're the only Christian I've ever heard it from...

You're kidding, how can you disown your own child. Dude needs to read his Old Testament, he should be thankful God didn't disown His children otherwise Mr. Keys wouldn't have a Messiah.........

Dude, I just don't get it. Sometimes I wonder how people like that can have the same faith that I have either a) they are way off base or b) I'm way off base and some kind of freak........................ugh :mumble:

Hey! not all Christians. Jerry Falwell and Allan Keys are terrible representations of our faith, they only stick out among the rest because they're so absurd. But I agree, as a whole Christians focus way to much on the stuff that doesn't matter (homosexuality, cartoons, etc.) instead of helping others, which is what practically the entire new testament is about.

Amen brotha............... :thumb:

Granted the Bible speaks on those matters (sexual immorality, etc), but those issues are not the emphasis of the New Testament. The New Testament (like the Old Testament) is the story of God calling out a new group of people to help bring heaven to earth and repair this world.

I'd guess that they are. Alan Keyes would beg to differ (especially if you asked him 6 months ago...)

Ive seen about 30 seconds of spongebob, in which spongebob was being chased by a pink torpedo and it went through a football-shaped hole in some pink coral and the hole was surrounded by crabs. I thought it was fantastic work.

Faldwell is the biggest douche bag in the world and if there wasn't already a hell I think they might have created one just for him. I don't like any "christian" figures but he may be hands down the worst. I shudder to think how dirty that man's mind must be to put so much fear of sexuality into him. Im always waiting to find out which Dobson or Faldwel type will be the first to have their collection of kiddie porn discovered.

The real irony of this whole F'ed up stategy of trying to shelter kids from sexuality is that there's absolutely no way to suppress nature and for the most part the harder you try the harder nature fights back. The system wholely backfires but the morons that implement are too scared to admit the truth and acknowledge ther own sexuality that they refuse to change it. Abstinence only education is about as good giving horny 15 year olds a motel room and no protection and just hoping that they wil make the "right" decision. I went to a christian middle and high school and not once was ANYTHING mentioned about safe sex or self respect or emotional baggage. For some reason the fear tatics about STDs and keeping jesus happy werent enough to keep our pants on... I can't imgine why...
