The key is moderation - raw soybeans are toxic but cooked / fermented soybeans are OK. I'm not saying that soy milk is bad for you, I'm saying that its not any better for you than milk.

Do some research on phytoestrogens as see what you think - not good news in my book.

Plus I'm naturally suspicious of anything ADM has their hands into and thats basically everything.

that is way too much for me to read.....:)

I have read various things on it in the past though.

the question I have is, are soy beans bad for you or just the products made from soy beans?

I have a vegan friend that swears tomatoes are bad for you. or he did until I had a little chat with him. :p

Ohh, good point, I forgot about that one. Correct me if I'm wrong, a nutrition teacher of mine told me that they are good in moderation/small quantities, but if ingesting a lot, they could possibly lead to female problems (cancer?). That class was like 3 years ago, so I could be wrong.

Yes this is true - the American diet is already crammed full of soy products, soy protein is everywhere because it is cheap and has many uses. I am pretty sure Americans are the worlds leading soybean consumers - yet no one know it. ADM rules the world. :dead:

well, I ingest so many other chemicals I really don't care too much. really, buy a quart of the soy juice stuff and it goes bad before I use all of it. that's how much I use, so I'm not too freaked out.

I'm sure the beer I consume is much worse. or riding w/out a helmet. or the lack of raw veggies or fruit. etc....

Could be, but if I'm not mistaken, the agriculture industry is the largest consumer of soy products in the country. Like you said before, soy has to cooked/processed in order to be used for human consumption. The rumen in a cow has the ability to breakdown wheats and grains, including soy. It's been about a year since I took a dairy science course, and even then I slept a lot, so my info could be sketchy. Have any of you stuck your hand inside a cow's stomach (the large one)? It stinks bad, very bad.

Is ADM the former Philip Morris? If so, they've got their hand in everybody's cookie jar.
