It was on Swedish national radio about it today. A former colonel, Karen Kwiatkowski, who was in the Pentagon from 2002 explained how a special group was put together to manufacture evidence against Iraq. This group was led by neo cons and not CIA or military personel. Officialy it was called "the extended Iraq desk" but was actualy a propaganda unit. The "evidence" they manufactured was directly contradicting to the inteligence coming in, that was also viewed by Karen K.

"At the end of the summer of 2002, new space had been found upstairs on the fifth floor for an "expanded Iraq desk." It would be called the Office of Special Plans. We were instructed at a staff meeting that this office was not to be discussed or explained, and if people in the Joint Staff, among others, asked, we were to offer no comment. We were also told that one of the products of this office would be talking points that all desk officers would use verbatim in the preparation of their background documents."

*The UN gave its blessings ten years earlier, actualy it was the UN that threw Iraq out of Q8 and the Frensh was with the US on that. Its stance wasn't illogical or unapropriate, it was the stance of the coalition that was unapropriate. It was their llack of evidence that had the UN stand against an invasioin.

*I used DU as an example of the enviromental disaster a war is. White phosphor and somthing else had already been mentioned in this thread so I added the Du since it's becoming a bio hazard in the Balkans and its population that have to live with it, not the NATO soldiers that are exposed to it just for a limited time.

*Since the take over of Iraq the pumps have been pumping. No one is counting cus the Brits and the Yanks are in control of them. That oil is not being paid for as stated by Rumsfelt (or Cheeny, don't remember).

Personaly I only put Norwegian oil in my tank because I know that no people come to harm in any way so that companies can get their hands on that money. I'm a customer of Statoil because it is owned by the state of Norway, and there for all Norwegians get to benefit that wealth, like in infrastructure, as opposed to privatly owned companies where only a few share holders reap the welath.
