yet another of my ghettorigged creations. Chain tension is maintained through a single arm chainguide, much like an LRP, but with an adjustable arm.

why do you have the roller on if it's a singlespeed? seems unnecessary.
I hope that was a joke, because if not, you might want to catch the short bus to school from now on.

it was a real question. I have never had a singlespeed (except when i was young and riding a bike i knew nothing about). I know quite well why i have one on 4 of my bikes; the chain grows and shrinks and will skip off the ring. but just from looking at it, i don't understand why to put it there. seems like it would just make it pedal worse.

sure did. what i didn't understand is why not just remove enough links to create the appropriate tension. I think i have found the answer (reading sites about SS).

Do you have anything to contribute to this? If not, STFU. your mocking comments are ridiculous. If you do, then cool. I'm ready this forum because i need to make a bike SS in the near future and don't mind the help. I don't need it, it's all somewhere on the web, but if you have something useful you don't mind sharing, bring it on. I love information.

You just need to be more clear is all. He said clearly that the guide was to keep tension and you asked "what's the roller for?" which in turn led me to believe you were mildly retarded.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Not a big deal. Now that i have read a few sites on SS, and read the original post for the 3rd time, i see my mistake. Frame of reference can be askew sometimes.
