Nah. It's not useless. Maybe it doesn't have as much of an impact here but there are people who care about what goes on in Ireland.

Have you ever see the exhibit at the national gallery in Dublin? It is very moving.

While I was there on vacation I got into a heated discussion with a local patriot about the American Revolution, Patriotism, and the Irish War for Independence. In the end it came down to either a) I was a patriot, or b) we were gonna fight! Since he was buying me beers I decided that I was a patriot.

Considering the majority of N. Irleand are Protestant and want to stay loyal to the British Crown I don't see the point of Sinn Fein. Muck like the Basque terrorists ETA. Most Basque want to remain part of Spain. ETA just can't accept this.
