Again, it's a different issue. We regard Iran as a hostile state, so any commerce they conduct in the US is going to be restricted or monitored. We don't regard the UAE as a hostile state, so why should they be held to different standards than any other friendly nation? Any friendly government (or multinational corporation) could have bought the terminals... the UAE didn't have to do any insider deals, they just had to bid the highest.dan-o said:

Lot's of misinformation on this topic. DP World is a terminal operator, meaning they perform the loading and unloading of cargo off of thier customers vessels. Probably the biggest change made to the terminals they bought in the US will be to paint the gantry cranes, and put up a bunch of new signs. I work for a "foreign" terminal operator. If everyone is so concerned with security, then they should take a close look at the ILA / ILWU labor.
