Is a shorter stem better for dirt jumping? Would size 70mm stem be more stable in the air, thanks for the help, (I'm a freshman at this)

get a 50 mm stem from soul and be done with it. if you hate it that much, your only out a few dollars, and you can put your uber (gay) long stem back on. how bout that..

i think you have to look at it from your own perspective
does your top tube feel about right?? if its a lil short the shorter stem will make it worse ...i say get a shorter one and try it

I switched from a Thomson 90mm/15% to a RF Diabolous 70mm and the feel is definitely more suited to DJ.
Stock P.2's have a 50mm stem. Neither the 50 or the 70 would be good for trail riding (too cramped) or climbing (not enough weight over front tire), but are good for descending, dropping/hucking and jumping.
Pick your poison, then experiment.

35-45mm stem i would say
i went from a 90mm stem to a 45mm stem and its a whole new bike, and i love it
