This is my first post on the forum although I have been lurking a while. The season here in Colorado is coming to a close (Copper was closed on Saturday the 16th because of snow) and I can not stop riding downhill.

I have decided to convert my bike to a ski bike this year. I have been researching the Hanson conversion Kit and it looks like it no longer exists. The links send you to lenzsports which has some amazing looking bikes but are way more than I am willing to put into my first season.

I have seen skateboard trucks used and crappy wooden blocks but I was hoping this could be a thread to share DIY conversions.

I would think the proper tire choice for snow, or skiing would be more fun...

i made one out of a bmx bike by making brackets out of square tube and C Channel that had countersink bolts through the skis and u bolts onto some old hubs. sorry, no pics.

This is an example of a ski bike I found somewhere (bad memory) online.

I do have to say the skateboard trucks look kinda scary and I dont quite understand how they stay on and still have range of motion.
