I just shipped a hardtail to my bro on which he'll do a lot of flat gravel/path riding. I sent it with a HRII and Minion SS rear but I want lighter, faster rolling tires for him. What do you think the best combo of light and fast tire I can get for him while remembering the Stan's rims are wider than a typical XC wheel where you'd run 2.1s.

file tread road tires up to a 55c are much more common now they ride great on or off-road/gravel.

I've got a few 2.25 Racing Ralphs which have been in our basement for a few years. Two are near new, just dried sealant in them. Third just has a little more tread wear.

I can put them out in the sun on our driveway to UV any cooties.

Vittoria - Terrino zero, Terrino dry. Have some waiting to use.
René Herse - loup pass, babyshoe. Have rat trap pass on a different bike, they roll so smooth!

I have Bontrager XR1s on some i30 rims I use occasionally on my gravel bike. They roll really while still having good traction for trails.
