Nevada cycling is hosting the season opener for the WCCC this weekend, 9/27-9/28, which is colligate cycling for the west coast,
we will also have Norba categories for DH and XC.
if enough people show up, there will be pay outs as well!
this is a really large source of fundrasing for the team, so no only do you get to have fun racing, you are really helping us out!
details:
Sky tavern is a small ski resort, on Mt Rose Highway, that is owned by the city of Reno. they allow us to host our race up there every year, and it is a really fun venue. The Dh course is steep and technical, and has a few fun jumps, while the xc course has a decent climb and a ripping downhill!
we will have a barbeque, and breakfast may also be served on sunday morning.
as far as getting there, the address of Sky Tavern is 21130 Mt Rose Highway, Reno NV. Easily Map Questable
from norcal, take exit 15 to merge onto US-395 S towards Carson City, then take exit 56 to merge onto Mt Rose Hwy/ NV-431(west) toward Mt Rose/ N. LAke tahoe, from the first intersection of Nv 431 and wedge parkway, (first stop light) continue on NV 431 for 10.3 miles, Sky tavern will be on your right hand side, at the point wehre the road begins to flatten out.
Also, we will have access to the lodge, which means sleeping in shelter, as well as bathrooms and running water.
weather can be variable, as always in northern nevada, so pack accordingly!
