Funny dog story.

Came home yesterday and went in through the side (since I don't have a house key on my car key ring) and noticed the gate wasn't latched. Once inside, noticed the dog not in her open kennel, not on the couch, it was currently raining, so not likely outside...

After walking the backyard scared she wondered off, she came crawling out from under the patio bench soaked. Best guess is she was outside when it started raining and she didn't try to make it back in the house and figured she could ride it out under the bench. Wife thinks I need to make her a shelter just in case. Like a dog house without a front. Considering I made on for the cat, I guess it makes sense.

<edit> I like my coffee like I like my ladies. Strong, full bodied, and a little bitter.

Got my latest electricity bill. Once again about 4 times what I would expect. However for the past 7 weeks I have been expressing Toshi like OCD and taking pictures of my electricity meter, entering notes in a spreadsheet to identify possible sources of excessive use. All for naught because the power company clearly is just reading the wrong meter. that is going to be a fun phone call.

Do they literally still come around to your house to read/look at the meter?

In theory. But they clearly are not coming by and looking at my meter.

From what I can tell my meter was built and installed some time in the early 1950's so no automated reading.

We had a "safety moment" at work to discuss an issue with one brand of smart meter. There seems there was a defect in one brand that caused it to spontaneously combust. While the bean counters said the probability of loss was cheaper, we decided to swap out the potential bombs for the more reputable brand before any major issues.

Some places have not been so kind.
