Dammit, just got into an accident. Kids ran across the road, 1st car stopped in time...second truck hit first car, I hit truck. Pretty significant front edge damage. Ruined my riding/camping plans for the next few weeks.

So, I am in the public library, waiting for AAA. This dude with a thick redneck accent comes in...they ask him if he needs help, he says "welll...I need to look at some stuff on a computer, but I have never used a computer before".

Refreshing.

I wonder how he's been spanking It all these years.

Well at least he asked for help instead of just trying to figure it out himself.

Or if not autonomous at least with autobrake functionality. That + adaptive cruise with stop and go is awesome. Not so sure on this car trying to steer itself business until it gets better than current tech, though.

I will definitely be on the lookout for AI features when I shop for a new truck in a few years.
I am getting older and dumber...I'll take the help.
Maybe I'll even buy fox Live with adaptive ROX detection technology next.

First day back subbing was also the first day of kindergarten. The short version:

I was in a kinder class and working as a "consoling adult" for the crybabies. The first one, a boy, got super worked up and started saying his tummy hurt. Thinking it was just nerves, I had him go sit with the class on the carpet. Next thing I know he's getting escorted to the nurses office--his tummy hurt because he had to poop.... But, he yelled on the way out, "I need to go home!! I can't poop here!! I need to go home!!" Poor guy! We've all been there!

Second catastrophe, prior to figuring out that there is a diagnosis that needs to be done so this girl can go to the SpEd class.... this kiddo is obese, probably close to a 100 pound 5 year old with no intention of listening. She was playing with water in the sink, refused to join her class, flailed and screamed on the floor, was a little too interested in the fire pull.... so the kids line up for a school tour and suddenly she's with it. Standing still, let's get outta this room and see what's out there. But then she got bored waiting for her classmates to use the bathroom.... I followed her to PE where she joined the 3rd graders and pitched a fit any time anyone tried to get her to go back to her class. Eventually I get her down to her classroom again to get her "rainbow coat"... and she proceeds to read the back of the goldfish cracker box.... all the words most kids aren't learning until later grades even... and that was the moment that I realized the kiddo isn't slow, she's probably high functioning autistic. After more screaming and finally leaving her with the school counselor, my shift was over! Boom!

TLDR: Kids are high-larious, it's nice to be working, and I need a beer!

Took my dudes out for some dirt time yesterday. Little one isn't quite coasting yet, so he's slow. I think I'm going to take my oldest for some easy trail rides just the two of us.

Another super important post regarding weekend activities... @Westy get your ass to Darrington and shuttle that shit!! Right meow! Well... maybe in a couple weeks would be better. There was one trail option over the weekend, and it was missing some pieces. The local work crew is putting the bridges in this week. They are doing a fantastic job with quality trails and looking to attract more people to the area to help support the community... (only one guy can sell the meth in a town that small, and they probably cook it too). Right, so once you leave the four store town, they have a skills area down low that is all pretty flat and easy with a couple little jump lines. Up top they are planning for 4 shuttle-able runs. The one that is mostly done is a blue, with some features that are a little more black than blue. They are planning for 2 blacks and one double black... not remembering exactly when they are aiming to be done, but these dudes are doing quality work, you've gotta check it out!

Having watched your fancy car try to steer itself this past weekend I'm unconvinced until the tech improves a lot :D

Spent the weekend working in my friends new boat, a 1984 32' Bayliner with twin Hino diesels. Changed the oil and fuel filters, checked the injection timing, replaced a bilge pump and chased down some electrical gremlins. Was rewarded with a 59 mile cruise from Everett to Tacoma and all the beer I could drink.

The experience has convinced me that this is my favorite type of boat, someone else's. She needs a lot of little things fixed but should be pretty nice when done up. I am the official ships mechanic so I will be rewarded with full access and free beer with out a dollar leaving my pocket.

I haven't had a proper ride since I tried ripping my thumb off a year ago. Things are getting better but realistically will not be back on the bike until next year.

Is that tug pulling a barge or is it some other kind of sea worthy craft? It seems to have a bridge.
