I know of Cal Poly wheelman but I am not a poly student.

I see quite a few SLO riders on this forum and was wondering if anyone knew of any mtb clubs that were open to the public?

Just go ride with them anyway. It's not like a road bike club or anything. Also look into the Black Market races - there's a Facebook group for it where I think they post most of the updates for the local stuff.

The truth is stated above. You will not find a better club to be affiliated with. Especially with the new crop of downhillers that seem to have joined the club. Count yourself lucky, the best years of my life were spent in good old SLO, there's a reason so many students never leave.
