Braised the beef in a skillet with the garlic, spices, then added the onions and chilies. After the onions turned translucent I boured in the bottle of beet and stirred until it stopped bubbling then poured it into the crock pot and added the rest of the ingredients. it will slow cook overnight. Right now it has a good kick
