On Saturday June 11th SMBA will be holding our 7th annual Mix Up the Dirt Ride Event from 10am-5pm. This event will take place in the clearing. There will be mountain bike demos, BBQ lunch, refreshments, scheduled group rides for all skill levels, and other mountain bike related activities, giveaways, etc.

The event is FREE and open to members and non-members alike. Attendees must have a helmet, water (hydration pack or water bottle) and mountain bike to take part in any of our group rides.

Demo bikes will be available from Trek and Gary Fisher. If you wish to demo a bike, be sure to have a valid ID and credit card on hand as some may require a deposit to demo a bike. Anyone 18 years and under wishing to demo a bike will need a parent or guardian present.

Also check out the latest cycling computers, Heart rate monitors and lighting systems from Sigma Sport. Adidas will be there with their latest offering on bike specific eye-wear and will have demos available to try out. Local Chain Lube supplier Happy Chain will also be there with plenty of free samples. A few of our local bike shops will also be there. Talk to representatives from Elevate Cycles and Blue Sky Bicycles. They’ll also have lots of bike related stuff for sale as well.

The LUNA Chix of Upstate NY will also be there. Join them as they will lead a women’s only/all-abilities MTB ride at 10:30am and a co-ed intermediate MTB Ride at 1:30pm.

Volunteers needed!
We could always use an extra hand with running the event. Right now we could use people to help lead and sweep on group rides. If you know the trails or just want to ride sweep, we’d be very grateful. We could probably use a hand setting up and tearing down too. Any help is appreciated.

Mark your calendars because you do not want to miss this! You can also keep up to speed with what’s going on with the club, trail conditions and event updates by checking our website and facebook page. If you have any questions send a message to SMBA@saratogamtb.org

We look forward to seeing you there!
