Intense lockon grips
FSA 270 bar
Syncros stem

Thanks a lot. Yeah it wasn't originally gonna be black but it's all SC had so I figured well the forks gonna match and so then I'll just get black everything else. I think it turned out nice :D

BAH!!! I'm building almost the exact some bike...poop on you.

Well great minds must think alike ;) hehe JK. Are you really building a VP-free with a White bros. on it? I haven't had it on the dirt yet but the parking lot test confirms that it's an awesome curb dropper. I think you'll like it ;) ;)

Look sweet.

I'm suprised at the relatively normal weight taking into account the heavy tires/tubes, pedals, cranks, and the fairly normal (i.e. not super light) rest of the build. Did you get an accurate frame weight before you built it up?

Looks jib-tastic but if you try and DH on it, time will reverse itself and the universe will implode...

Nice ride, I love my free, hope you do too - once you get it in the dirt.

It's too bad you can't use it for dh.

I guess when I ride my free kinda fast down hills I'm actually freeriding. Or is that black diamond all mountain jibbnaciousness? I forget...

Very nice. :thumb:

<-- Very jealous. ;)

I've been drooling over the VPP-Free my LBS has hanging in the shop. Would be the perfect replacement for my clapped out Lawwill if I had the funds... :nopity:

Thanks for all your commpliments on my bike! :D Too bad I'm on the other side of the country from it right now. I can't wait to get it dirty ;)

Oh and violentviolante yeah the brakes were a no brainer as i have a pair of e4's and they are bye far the best brakes I've ridden and the fork. Well I wanted a upside down fork, I reserached and talked to the people in the know around town and concluded that besides the avalanche and curnutt forks which are stupid expensive that the WB is the best thing around.

And for the price on the fork, well, I work at a shop and so I got it for cheaper than the retail number is but I think it's not something that I should be letting out on a public forum. Sorry.

44 lbs., seems pretty heavy for a VP-Free - maybe its the tire/tube choice?

Yeah it may be a little heavy for a free but with my recent rash of pinch flatting I'm not willing to put anything but DH tubes in. Changing flats on DH tires is a real pain. Plus, well...as far as the parking lot test reavealed anyway it feels really nimble and covers up it's 44pounds pretty well. Hopefully it'll be that way on the trail too.

I rode one this weekend and I think it would be a great DH bike for certain courses. Like this years Snowshoe course. My only complaint is that the top tube seemed to short, but it definately had that classic VPP feel, great sprinting.

Man threads move fast when you can only check them once a day on dial up... Hey profro thanks for the input. I'll have to see about the top tube thing. It felt good on the limited time I did ride it but who's to know...I need to get more time on that bike.
