I brought it with me to work today. I was having some work done on the car. I used the bike to get back to the office and go get lunch.

I was quite alarmed at what a difficult time I was having. I was huffing and puffing. Not much by waqy of saddle time this year, so I'm pretty flabby....

When lo and behold, a glimmer of hope. I realized as I was retrieving my car ($830 later), that my Hayes had seized up and my wheels were barely turning. That would explain SOME of my troubles. I'm still flabby though.

Seems that when they heated up, they were clamping down on the rotors. I'll have to take a look this weekend.. never happened before. And lord know I've not changed anything on the bike in eons....

I have no idea where I am
Just yank those worthless brakes off the bike.

You only need to stop once during a ride, when you get back to the car.

So quit being such a pansy and stop the bike Fred Flintstone style.

If you were a real man, you'd ride to the trails instead of driving. :)

I drive to trails all the time.

...on a road bike with your DH rig and pads strapped to your back.

Actually there is a trail system 6 miles from my studio. It makes for a good 3.5 hr. ride.
I saw a picture somewhere of a guy who'd taken a Bob trailer and modded it to have a bike rack attached. He had a mountain bike on the rack, and was towing it behind a road bike.
