and got shot down.

he was all "i dont know, i dont think it could work out"...
"technically it could be done, but i dont think so..." for basically 10 minutes while i laid down my point.

when he left, i told him.. "well, give it some thought... tell me what the issues would be to work them out"..

now, what? i want to telecommute once a day. on sunday, its pretty slow.. i dont think there would any inconvenients for the company.
help? how can i convince the boss? should i talk to the boss boss?
tell the boss i could talk with the boss boss if thats ok with him to work whatever issues there might be?

Going above your boss' head is a great way to limit your future promotional and/or raise opportunities :)

You might have to use the old, "or else" tactic.

Many bosses believe working from home is a boondoogle. I know personally that every time I have worked from home, I have taken a nap.

When I work from home, I usually start as soon as I wake up for at least 10 hours.

telecommute? You guys have phones down there?
of course there are. thats the reason i spend so much time on RM..

what would i be? a loser who spends precious weekends surfing the net?:clue:

heh, btw, that reminds me of this girl i met in good ol´alabama.. i has just met her at lunch, and she (i could tell from her naivete and christinity it was in absolutely good and naive spirit) was like "why did you come to school to the states.. are there colleges in peru?.. then i proceeded to tell her that there werent, that i had to travel 1000 miles just to finish high school, how i learnt english by picking up lost AM radio signals from the states, and how my dad was the best lion (yes, lions in south america) hunter in the jungle and thats how he could afford tuition..... she actually believed all that, and got very mad when weeks later i made fun of that to a guy she knew (who in turn told her)
oh, sweet homeschooled youths....

So, does your boss know about your new bitchin' ride?

I wouldn't give you an unsupervised day, either!!

(or night...jajaja....)

TROUBLEMAKER!!!
my boss is the average peruvian idiot.

got no clue on why i like old cars.
one day i came in the camaro, "its in very good condition!, how many mpg you get from that?" and he was like "wow, why dont you convert it to natural gas (cheaper alternative than gasoline for cabs and buses)?" he lusts for my yaris though:biggrin:

You are not allowed to talk about classic cars unless you post pics. I don't even think I have see a Yaris. Let's see 'em.

When I started at my current comapny, I was told I could work from home at least a day a week. Since I started in January, I am lucky to work one day a month, and I get a ton of heat that day too.

I have a 90 minute commute (each way) and would not have taken the job had I known that working form home would be an issue. I get twice as much work done at home because I don't get bothered by jackasses. But because some people don't know how to work outside of the office, they assume everyone is jerking off when "wfh". F@ckers.

Sorry, had to rant.

Boston....outside of it....
my old boss, who wasn't really my boss..........
had no problem with me workin at home.

this new one is kind of anal.

the whole funny thing about this is that neither of these guys is actually my real boss. My real boss is 20 miles away and I only see him twice a year. He replaced my other real boss who I only saw 6 times a year.......

so, my current not real boss ..... there's not a chance in hll that he would let anyone (even his real employees) telecommute.

He doesn't even like it when people's lunch hours turn into lunch hour and five minutes (even though most people around here end up working more hours than they should).

it's weird.

But when I did telecommute, I had a hard time staying busy, simply because people wouldn't give me anything to do. It was weird.
