I was in Israel last week on a group trip and as part of the trip we met with some Arab-Israelis. We went to an Arab village and met with a group of Arab (Muslem) teens. Across the board they HATE Israel, and for the most part they said they hated all Israelis too. One kid's brother was killed by a hesbola rocket. He blames Israel for this and says that Israel forced hesbola to do what they did and that his brother was a martyr. Another kid tried to insist that all IDF soldiers have to kill a baby as part of there service, but Hamas never bombs inocent people and never kills babys.
I realy don't see how people can actualy think like that.

where all cultures bear some guilt of over-emphasizing the enemy (where one exists), the culture you encountered seems to bear a disproportionate one compared to others.

of course, this may just be my pro-jewey projection.

did you get the sense these where just average joes (moes), who just get up each day & try to scrape by, or did they express some hope of a better life, either by their own doing or indirectly through a political solution to the mid east crisis?

It's the same thing as why I the Oakland Raiders suck donkey balls.

Do they really? Well, probably.

GO BRONCOS!

What's an Arab-Israeli?

You have Arab-jews, arab-muslims, israeli muslims, israeli jews.

Is an Arab-Israeli a dual-citizen?

They were just normal 16/17 year old high school students

An Arab-Israeli is an arab that has full Israeli citizenship and technicly the same rights as a jewish israeli

sorta like how a jew living in an islamic nation enjoys full citizenship & full rights as their fellow muslim citizens.

No, it's more like they actualy under law have the same rights (minuts being drafted) and they actualy go to univerities (not as many as the jews but alot do go) although they are still not as educated and still don't make as much money as jews. Arab Israelis DO have more freedom and rights as an Arab Israeli than living in ANY Arab country.

Kinda like queers in Boulder (Colorado) :(
why could there possibly be a problem? the peoples' republic is a liberal bastion modeled after berzerkely, where the only people being openly beaten are the homeless.

Try to imagine why they might feel that way and then you might understand the problems that go on there.

I think a lot of the problems in the Middle East are due to the lack of communication and understanding. You sound as dense as Hezbollah or the Likud.

I think he was trying to say that it sounds like he (the montashu) went to this "meeting" with predisposed notions and an un-open mind?

I went hoping to meet some real Arab people and not have an opinion based on what is shown in the media.

I understand that they feel like they have been invaded by Israel and are under an occupation, but that gives them no right to want to kill Israeli children. Oh and Likud sucks, they are to supportive of the religous right. I am hoping the kadima party can do something good, but after this last war its looking like netenyahu is going to get elected.

After the invasion of France & the Low Countries did the Allies have the right to kill thousands of German children? Not to mention the children in the towns & cities of the occupied countries?

seeing how your counter-example took place during a declared war period, i'm not sure it's analogous.
