Got the Panasonic 50" 7UY, DVI board, tilt mount and a 5 year bumper-to-bumper warranty all for nearly the price of a couple really good XC bikes.

Special thanks to RM's surfinguru for the link to the AVS Forum.

Now while the tv makes its way to me over the next few days from the warehouse, I need to get recommendations on what 3 dvd's to watch on Plasma Premier Night!

Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

I watched it on my laptop's DVD player and was suprised at all the detail that gets left out on a TV.

i got seasons 1 and 2 of SWC and watched the Yes You Can't episode last night. seeing steven colbert at the end as a rocker (did they do "carry on my wayward son"?) was hilarious. mark ibold (pavement) was playing bass. he used to pop on some other tv show too.

Where the hell did you find a working 13" monitor? Have they even made any of those in the past 10 years?

Bad move.. in my experience the bigger the better the TV the more time you spend in front of it...

Stay away from it

Boondock Saints
The Royal Tenebaums (great for checking out contrast and color)
Gladiator (good sound test as well as visually stunning, as well as being an acceptable movie)

N8, congratulations man! Glad the link to the AVS Forums was helpful. I know you'll be happy with the purchase.

As far as what movies to watch? Without knowing your preferrences, I'd have agree with a few already listed and add a few of my own:

Saving Private Ryan, Band Of Brothers (If you're into the WWII stuff)
LOTR (any of them)
Matrix I, II and III
Finding Nemo, Shrek (or any recent animated stuff will be phenomenal)

Oh, and N8, I'm really digging that furniture - excelent find! I'm currently using a wall mounted articulating arm with some AV console unit I picked up from Circuit City.

Anyway, ENJOY!! (Plasma = )
