...& he said something to the effect of, legal gay marriages will tarnish the sanctity of marriage. Well, by this line of reasoning shouldn't adulterey be illegal or anything else that tarnishes the sanctity of marriage?

Kerry is also against gay marriages, at least this week.... so far.
Way to stay on subject and answer the question.

TN_fred, I agree with your logic, but right now gay marraige isn't ILlegal, it just isn't recognized.

OK. I see now. Well that is like a kick to the nads.
So you can legally be married but the govt wont recognize it.....well I think gay couples that want to get married should, even though it is not recognized & that would be a testament to the sanctity of their marriages. b/c if they are waiting for the legal benefits of marriage (taxes, ins., etc..) it just seems to me that this is the reason they want to get married anyway, not holy matrimony.

On a side note....I just found out that my company's insurance will cover domestic same-sex partners....not that it effects me any, but I thought it was cool anyway.

I have never heard a reasonable arguement against letting homosexuals marry.

I'm all ears though...
Because it will reduce the sanctity of my loveless, spiteful, straight marraige, duh.
