I still don't get this Pelosi issue.

It seems like this is the talking point:

A-You say torture is bad.
B-You say that the Bush administration ordered torture.
C-Pelosi knew about it.

Therefore: Pelosi is the entire problem.

To which my reply is: Fine, let's investigate Pelosi. We can put her in jail after we hang Bush, Cheney, Libby, Addington, Yoo, and Gonzales.

Is it odd that a pro wrestler can have more moral clarity than a constitutional lawyer?
Actually, I believe that his moral clarity comes from the fact that he *was waterboarded*. I've yet to hear of a single person who was waterboarded who's come out of it saying that it's not torture. For some reason getting water dripped on your head gives you an entirely different perspective of how bad it is...

Still waiting for Hannity to be waterboarded for the troops.

i can vouch for the sucktitude of it...although knowing that you're in a "school" and that it will eventually end is a big mental boost to get through it with a better attitude towards the technique. i can't imagine how much it would suck as an actual prisoner not knowing if they're going to let you die or not.

i have learned a lot more about getting information from people as a cop than i ever did in the interrogation technique courses i had to take in the marines. (even though i never paid much attention because i knew i was way to low on the totem pole to ever have a chance to use that knowledge)
i have found that people who have nothing to lose and/or are very committed to their cause will only give you information if they want to or they feel guilty/ashamed of what they have done.
i used to be pro-torture because it has worked, in small percentages, in the past but i think we're way past that now in both technology and psychological intelligence to take that risk. the only thing guaranteed with torture is that the prisoner is going to hate you with the fire of a thousand suns and pass on that hatred to his/her people for generations.
