what that will be..

I am taking about the rear Shock ofcourse.

my new M-pire frame came with a pretty nice Manitou FOUR way(9x2,75 with a 500pound spring) but I think will be nice to explore the capabilities of this incredible frame.

so what do you guys think, do i leave it like it is or go the extra mille??
if that is the case what is the ultimate shock.?

I'm 6'2" 210 pound to old to be super extreme but still have the skills to get my self in trouble, the bike will be use for Downhill, freeride and hopefully some tight Canadian single track(my favorite) I race a KTm 950 at some rally's and also a 660ADv so is not like I'm a guss or something like that..

For Now i have a super-T for a front Fork but I'm gattering the money for a pretty FOX 40( I do have some Huck ups) I just wish Ohlins or Penske made Bicycles shocks and forks with those guys I have the super "Bro-Deals"

thanks in Advance

Ohlins does make a rear bicycle shock but it's licensed through cane Creek, it's called the Double Barrel. Search and you will find it.

The 4-way is not bad IMO but a Fox DHX or Avalanche would be better ultimately.

Wow that is great to Know,,is a "Top sheft" item? or just a whatever....???

I have a Avalanche on my balfa and I'm extremlly impress with the quality of the ride.

thanks for the heads Up.

Oh I was having fun today and I install a Scott's(design by ohlins) steering damper from one of my motorcycles on top of my forks,,sadlly my computer is FUBAR in terms of loading pictures so i can not show ,,so far riding on the street and on little jumps is not intrusive but i bet will be great when I get to take the bike on a high speed run,,,more to come.

The Double Barrel is very high end although it's brand new so no one really knows how well they work, or at least I haven't heard any feedback.

A company called Hopey makes nice MTB steering dampers, worth checking out if you are used to riding damped.

I'm being riding on Scott's for the last 6-7 years and I trust them with my life,,they are for sure heavy for a bicycle but so adjustable and tunable i think i can live with it.

thanks again for all the advice

I say at least try the stock shock before you just dismiss it...you may like it....D
thanks I do agrre,,at least i will have a "base reference" if I ever get a fancyer one, today i rode the bike in a multitude of condiccions and the way the rear end works was exelent, well the Nicolai features so many setting, i pretty much rode the same circuit changing one variable at the time,,,a.k.a. basic "scientific method"
did I mension I'm a little geeky sometimes..!?!?

i dunno, the swingers are really nice shocks, and the 05 ones are even nicer. if you really want to step up, id say get a 6 way adjustable one with a TI spring for more tunability and more responsive spring rates

Buddy rode Nicoli's last year and liked his 5th Element (real similiar to your Swinger) over the stock Romic it came with the bike OEM.

The shock came off his prior bike....but I assume it was the same size. Iwould definately give the Swinger some credit and see what kind of performance you can get out of it first.
