Yeah i've had sdg ibeam for about a week and 3 days on my new cannondale chase. The seat was moving around for some reason and i was tightening it and ti was still wiggling and then the bolt stripped out the threads to the other side....

great....

I like the ibeam concept, but that post has got to be one of the crummiest (is this a word?) pieces of junk on the market. SDG needs to step it up and make a quality seatpost and they have a winner.

Just contact Cannondale or SDG and they'll take care of you. The guys at SDG are super cool and are always happy to help their customers out.

It was wiggling b/c the nylon rail gets smashed by the metal seatpost clamp. You stripped out the bolt b/c the rail gets crushed. Ibeam is a cool concept but a piece of crap in execution, IMO.

If you don't take the time to fully loosen the bolt before adjusting the fore-aft, you increase the chances of damaging the I-Beam rail on the saddle. Otherwise you shouldn't be having any problems.

I think this whole I beam deal is a good idea, just seems gimicky with the way everything is put together.

SDG makes good products, again like Luc said, just call them up and explain it to them. You can't be the first person this has happened to.

BTW how do you like the chase frame? I thought about getting one and getting rid of the freeride rig and swap some parts for a urban deal. What price do they run (if ya know)

Welp the SDG dude i was emailing with is the best. He is sending me a new post and said he didn't need my old one sent back first because he did not want me to be without a ride and said he would just send one out. SDG gets an A in my book for customer service.

Wow..very nice of them - but I'm not surprised, that's just the way they are! :thumb: :thumb: up for SDG!

If I ask nice, will they lend me a set-back post and a seat to do some QA testing on, or can my big-ass set it all the way back and have it hold? :D
