Were gonna do it all over again.

This cycle has been going on in this country for 228 years and nothing that's happened today changes that.

We elected a president yesterday, without bloodshed, without firing a shot, and without civil war. Our method of government has its problems, but its the best the world has ever seen.

So, cheer up, ride your bike, and try to find candidates that will connect with enough Americans to win the White House and we'll meet up again four years from now.

Yup we're( ;) ) gonna be doing the same thing, but that doesnt mean I have to like it.

We are still far more partisan then ever. The issues that have difined this election are not ones that can be compromised on (gay marriage, war, and to a lesser extent abortion).

I recognize that it is just part of the cycle, but that doesnt mean I'm gonna be happy about it.

Oh, and this is the Political forum, everyone knows we dont even own bikes. We just sit at home and rant over the internet without actually accomplishing anything ;)

I wouldn't have liked it either if the reverse happened, but I certainlly wouldn't be cursing about it. Nope, I'd suck down a couple dry martinis, write out a check to the GOP, and head to the golf course (and I don't even know how to play golf)...

:p

Are you saying that there aren't any democracies that "function" better than the great American system? The whole American election process is pretty outdated and complex to be exact.

trittor. That scares me. Especially considering if first came out in what...99 or so? That really summarizes all my fears of Bush (although amplified greatly in time and scale)
Dude,

I hope you dont think that crap is real. According to his dates though, he should be like 12 years old or something right now. Lets go find him and kick his a$$.

I don't think it is, just the whole premise of the future events.
This country really needs to push for a third party, somewhere in between (ie libertarian). I konw alot of people who vote one wasy or another just so they don't vote for the competition (incl me). A third option that actually had pull would be nice, however our wonderful 270 votes makes that a little hard now doesn't it....

I'd vote Libertarian if there was a viable canidate.

Also expert intelligence analysts have estimated that 100,000+ MORE Iraqis have died than would have if we didn't take Saddam out of power. Those pro-lifers support a leader that caused over 100,000 extra murders.

Guess they don't really care about human life after all...

But god has given us all his children the right to life, except Iraqis.

Exactly, you and your ilk could care less about the Iraqi lives. If they were christians something tells me we would be doing things differently over there.

What happens when we give (bomb them into) a democracy and they want to put a muslim cleric in charge?

If they vote him in and still retain the power to vote him out, FINE by me. El Presidente has gone on record to say the same thing.

So your like a Saints fan who actually roots for the Patriots because they have a better chance of winning the superbowl? Band wagon politics, yay.

While I have voted Liberatrian (Browne) for President in the past, I really don't think that Libertarians will field a "viable" (meaning with an actual chance to win) candidate in the near future. I would be VERY happy with a Republican like the Govenator who is liberal on social issues, fiscally conservative, pro-business, and not a religious suckass. That said, I could support the Democrats if they moved to the center as well. WJC was not that bad, but Gore and Kerry and definitely too liberal for me to vote for.

See ya in four years!
