fair nuff responses, perhaps what i meant to say was when did you even start to give a **** about politics? i.e actively read about it other that what was spoon fed on the idiot box
right after I turned 18 and joined the military. At first, decided based on who would increase military spending, thinking that meant automatic pay raise, then when I realized those idiots held decisions about mine and my friends lives in their hands.
Probably around 13 that I started caring about social issues (civil rights, free speech, discrimination, etc.) enough to pay attention to news. Definitely followed politics sooner, but didn't care about politics until the 2000 election.
i cant remember not being interested in politics..
my mom was very active in the NOW and AAUW organizations in the 60's & 70's. i remember full well the Nixon presidency and all the scandal surrounding it. also remember reading the news paper about Patty Hurst & the SLA.. Charles Manson etc... my parents didnt have a tv until after i graduated high school so i read a lot.
i was proud to vote for ronnie raygun in my first election
