is it just me, or does it seem weird to anyone else that a shop is selling Nicolais on ebay? i get the sense that Nicolai is pretty hard to obtain here in the States...then to see them on ebay is just kinda like...i don't know. weird.

If you were importing frames with those kinds of prices you'd probably try to maximize the exposure/audience too. Actually, I can't blame them at all since there is a sucker born every minute and it seems they all shop ebay these days.

I still cant get over the price of their frames. I know they are a work of art but still. I wanted a TFR for a trail bike ever since the first pics started to come out. I even talked it over with the wife. She even gave me the go ahead as long as the frame wasn't over $4k.

I cant see spending that much on a frame. I could see maybe $3k-4k but man $6k is OUT OF HAND. With that much money I could build a sweet bike and have plenty of money for a couple trips to Whistler and some spare parts and money to spend!!

that is true (about the sucker being born every minute).

but doesn't it also kinda "cheapen" the Nicolai name? i don't know. back to my jack and coke.

Personally, I wouldn't want a dealer selling my goods in that manner. Especially with the "boutique" nature of the product and the fact it is a first year model.

Funny, I'd think of it the other way...I think it's hideous, but would sure like an internal drivetrain...

However, I'm not going to ride any bike that's going to weigh or cost as much as that thing does now.

what an ugly overpriced frame. they dont seem to confident about the durability of it however with the "any fork longer than that will immediately void the warranty" for that much money they had best send me anything i need whenever i need it.

For that price, the TFR better climb without me even pedaling. You can get a brand new motorcycle for less.

For that price, the TST better do 20' to flat 360 drops, while I sit back reading my magazine and drinking a beer.

;);););););)

Their ebay add sounds like they dont even have them in stock.

Nice, I wonder how many frames Nicolia actually sells. I would think they would sell more and in return make more money if the frames were set at a somewhat reasonable price.

funny thing is if I had the opportunity to buy one of the Nucleon FR's no longer made I would do it in a heartbeat....I had the chance and passed...if only i knew then what I know now....I really like the concept of the bikes....D

Hmmm...because of the insane price, I wonder if people will actually buy it. If they don't sell many, I wonder if Nicolai will do something about it for the following year.

So let me get this straight, 6K for a basic set up, and if you want all the upgraded goodies you're spending an additional $751? Sorry guys but F that.
My thoughts exactly, you spend 6K and yet you still have chances to upgrade?? WTF is that? Even their upgrade prices I think are high, I doubt at builder cost a DHX 5 is $135 more than a 3. their going to price themselves out of business this way
