I heard the CAT 1 course will have the same route and jumps this year ??
Well if it is the same amateur course (Drifter to Buc Nasty to Lip Skidder to finish area) the old "thunder huck" is now a double w/ a nice tranny to make you go even faster into that tricky corner. Other than that the big slightly hipped double in the woods is still there and is still intimidating. Lip skidder is back and looks good.

As for the pros and no practice on Sat, the does suck. But there is still quality riding on Sol Twista mountain and nearby at Winter Park. You ProGRT doods could preview WP's Trestle DH and all that jive.

It's looking SICK, thanks for the updates with the photos!! Can't wait to get out there...just hoping my body holds up after my huge moto crash this past weekend. So excited to see huge berms, drops, jumps, bridges, rocks...ooooooooo, too excited!!!!

In the Northwest.
Now Sol Vista just needs to add some dirt to the top of their hill so they have some vertical to work with!

Imagine what Matt and crew could do with a REAL mountain!

I'm stoked to get out there. The course looks great and my lungs are already hurting knowing how much pedaling will be involved next week!

Ummmmm, I guessing fast times will be between 2 and 2.5 minutes...
Those of us from sea level cant breathe walking to the base of the lift!

Is the course going to be faster this year? Last year Gwin had a low 2 something, it seems like the big berms might be faster than the sandy stuff (depending on how many switchbacks have been added)

i just posted this on FB, but here's the latest. (i know the trail builders are some of my best friends and i'm probably biased, but i am so stoked on how the pro dh track has turned out...it's gonna be awesome).
-----------------
Just walked the entire Nationals Pro DH track at SolVista. FREAKING SICKNESS! I know you've all seen the manmade portions, but those features combined with the savage, aggro, natural, rocky upper half is gonna make for a kick ass race! trail tour video is underway, probably up in the morning. SO STOKED! can't wait!

Anyone got any extra floor room for a body at Sol Vista? I need a place to Crash on Thursday and Friday night! I'll throw down some $$ for a little space. :D

Thanks!

Looking good guys! I love how he basically said (at least twice) in the video that haters can get fvcked. :thumb:

After all the crazy complaints last year from people who weren't there, I don't blame them for growing a thick skin.

Where the riding is good
every motocross outdoor national track is usually watered before practice and before finals.

Oh....wait....that's a mountain bike track?

I kid......:thumb:
From Vital: So stoked. The track is taped and all cleaned up/packed. 1200 gallons of water this morning and more tomorrow. Gonna be sick!

Oh sick! Did they add C1 practice as well on Sat? I thought I'd only get the 2 hours on Friday, pretty stoked to see another 1.5 hrs before the race Sat. Whew...

12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Practice- DH- C1 (except 17-18 male) Amateur DH

ooooh and a 7AM-8AM Super D practice... nice. Although getting up for that's gonna hurt.

From facebook:

Non-racers are still able to ride the park during the USAC National Championships this week. Bike Park operations are as follows:

Wed, July 14: 2:00pm-7:00pm $25 lift pass
Thursday, July 15: No Riding
Friday, July 16: 4:00pm-7:00pm $10 lift pass
Saturday, July 17: 4:00pm-7:00pm $10 lift pass
Sunday, July 18: 11:00 am-5:00pm $25 lift pass
I would like to assume that during the posted hours, racers could ride the non-race trails.
