here is some i candy

i also beleave i'm the first person to run camo sherman lowers on a stance kingpin. i personnally think that they should offer the sherman camo lowers as an option! (anyone at manitou listening) also the sherman q/r lowers are rated for 8" rotors. i will voutch for that they remain stiff even in stoppie situation on pavement. most any other q/r fork will pull a little under that situation ( and i expect it to a little because of my weight, 240 on a light day)

here are the pics, enjoy!

what is your point? i work for performance(which btw owns Super Go). the frame is made by kinesis(whick also makes santacruz). as for the wheels. woodman style hub laced to alex supra D rims( welded pins and sleeved). it came with the seatpost.

btw i bought the frame for $377 shipped. you cant past an offer like that up. also the 4 gen. swingarm is fairly stiff. about the same as a bullet.

really what is the big problem with Super Go

anyway the post was about the fork!

yep you got it. its really just the frame, wheels, and pedals. the pedals suck and i will never buy another pair. they are just my back up set, for some reason i really beat up pedals.

Bad news, according to the guy I talked to at Manitou when I ordered my 6" Firefly a few weeks ago, I got the last set of Camo lowers they have in stock and they are discontinuing camo as an option. Bummer :(

They look really nice on your Stance!

Give us some general impressions of that frame? I have a friend looking for a cheap FR frame and that one seems to be a good option at that price.

its a kingpin with sherman camo lowers on it.

i like the kingpin but i have had some problems with the air assist. answer is taking full responsablitiy for the problems. of course the problems i had are about the worst that i have heard(they are now sending me a whole new fork just for the air problem, and yes i'm keeping the camo lowers). non of the problems are structurel, just with the air assist. when i has been working the thing is stiff light, under 7 lbs, and very smooth. there are no hicups or spikes on the dampaning.

as for the pedals. they are performance stomps. i doubt the last more than one more month. they have play in the bushing and the bearing is starting to go bad(i normally have problem with blowing the pedal bearing but never the bushing). if they could fix those problems it would be a good pedal. the platfrom is really grippy and strong(never bent it like on some other pedals)

WOW! nice fork bro. wish i had thought of THAT idea! :thumb: no im not bitter....but as for the discontinuing (i know i cant spell) the camo option wtf?!?!?!?! how am i supposed to turn my kingpin into a sherman now?! :mumble: guess it'll be pink swingarm and lowers on the fsr now. anyway man, nice to see my idea would have looked awesome if only I had gotten defective lowers on MY fork.

I like your bike SC. I'd ask you if I could try it but your very far from my house. What's it weigh in at, 38-40?

like the other guy said it weights in at 39lbs. the good thing is that it rides like a 33-35lb bike. if you stay in the seat it really does feel like a trail bike. if you get out of the seat it starts to feel a bit long in the travel but still feel lighter than it is. i think the low leverage ratio and swinger 6way shock plays a big part in this. even though the lowers are QR they remained stiff and true even in situations where the wheel is being kicked back and forth by things in the trail. this was shown to me when we rode of a foot path that unfroze, people walked over (the mud had to be really goopy at that point), then the trail froze agian, and then put a layer of ice on top (i hope this discription make since).

right now i only have one real ride on it (a light fr ride, skinnies and what not). since this will be my only bike i still need to try it out on some xc type trails. when i do that i will report on how it handles it.

btw the bike does feel lighter than 39 lbs in your hands. i cant explain why it just does for some strange reason

Nice rig dude

Ya got to let me take that bugger for a spin some time when the ground hardens again.

We will have to put that thing through its paces at Snowshoe this summer

It's called "denial." Mostly, it affects Banshee owners, but sometimes other people are afflicted, too. It's OK, though, because denial can help you have fun on your bike by actually riding it instead of just weighing it all the time...

Nice fork. Are the internals of the fork compatible with Shermans, too? (As in, can the TPC+ cart from the Kingpin be fitted into a Slider+ chassis?)

Miked i think all the internals are the same specs in terms of fit. it is a cartage like the spv is.

steve: yes we will have to put it though its paces at snowshoe for sure.
