There's this kid (~9-10yo) in my neighborhood who never wears a helmet. This is the second opportunity I've taken to convince the kid to wear his helmet. He likes hucking curbs, pulling wheelies. It turns out he doesn't even have/own a helmet! That's why he's not wearing it. It's also cuz he doesn't think they're cool, which is what I got from our first conversation.

I'll ask one of my neighbors whom I'm friendly with who his parents are so I can go talk to 'em.

Not as bad as the guy I saw zooming down the sidewalk on a gas powered scooter as fast as he could go. With his kid on his shoulders, both wearing no helmets.

that's very cool of you, but I don't live in the slums... his parents can most definitely afford one
