if you are a hip-hop fan, you've got to be familiar w/ the name of Dan Nakamura, or at least his nom de plume, Dan the Automator. he's probably most famous for either his work w/ Kool Keith as Dr Octagon or the stuff as Deltron w/ Del Tha Funky Homosapien but he's been involved w/ a ton of other stuff, notably Handsome Boy Modeling School, Gorillaz and Lovage

this track is from a cut-up record he did from a big pile of indian 'bollywood' movies, taking both dialog and soundtrack, adding some of his own stuff and mixing it all up into a spicy biryani. like most of the stuff dan's been involvd w/ , the entire record is pretty damn awesome.

big fan of the Automator.

edit: saw him (Handsome Boy Modeling School) last year sometime and was the worst show ever. Total phone in.

i like this one, maybe just because it sounds so different than the usual fare. the trumpet playing at 1:25 is annoying, especially in how it syncs up (or not) with the strings at 1:45 and how it's a lot sharper than the synth 10 seconds later. oh well, still a compelling track.
