the other amazingly great live band from the 90s (the Buttholes being the other), the Jesus Lizard was a formidable presence...they had no weak spots - like a steinbrenner-fueled free agent binge, all positions were manned by among the best in the business. mac mcneilly on drums was a monster, guitarist duane dennison could bring both spidery leads and crushing power, while ex-Scratch Acid vets david wm sims played the bass like he was wrestling a python, and front man david yow...well, just yow. frenetic, beady-eyed, trou-dropping, sweat-dripping - he gave it his all every single performance.

truly a band which is missed.

That bass is sweet. Is he the same guy that played with Tomahawk?
nope, that's Kevin Rutmanis, who used to play w/ the Cows.

not sure what david wm sims is up to. he was a pretty captivating player live, which is fairly unusual for bass players.
