loudest three piece this side of Motorhead, Husker Du blasted their way from the cornfields of the midwest (well, minneapolis) via a couple of lumbering protopunk (more UK influenced, though) singles before they ramped everything up for the self-descriptive _Land Speed Record_. quickly shedding the shackles of hardcore, they'd tip their hand on the next record w/ a cover of "Sunshine Superman". fusing fuzzed out guitar (flying V, natch), rubbery bass and some crack drumming, the line between pop melody and bitter noise was smudged, ruined, re-drawn forever. essential band.

Stupid kids. Been a fan since I was 11 or something like it. So very my time punk. Something I learned today is sooo classic. Reminds me of old skate videos and The Punk Hour on my college radio station at three in the morning on Tuesdays when I was in highschool.
