The dB's were a great powerpop band from the 80s, and their name probably registers w/ you if Mitch Easter isn't a strange name. this Hoboken quartet didn't have the easiest ride, as i think some of their records were available only in Germany, and now all their stuff is back out of print, but guitar player Peter Holsapple ended up scoring a pretty good gig by being 2nd guitar in REM's touring band.

this particular song is the most upbeat, danceable song ever about a love affair gone horribly bad, ending in revenge, destruction, and death. really.

the mismatch between the lyrics and the mood is novel... but not enough to make it onto the "narlus" playlist. :monkey:

yeah, that was his main gig. he's a good songwriter too, but the production on those records has not aged well.
