curious... why didnt you guys use the same boxxer mounting standard so that we can use any of the new bolt on stem options....? E13, SIC and a few others are making new bolt on stems. You should go back to the drawing board and make it easier for riders to interchange components.

How about a longer stem? 50mm is too short for a lot of folks...

The stock stem is 67mm, so we didn't feel like there was much of a need to make a 70mm version. Also, we'll have a 31.8 clamp available, but it will only be 50mm reach.

As for making our crown/stem to match up with the Boxxer specs, I don't see that in the cards, not much reason to do that from a vendor standpoint.

From a vendor standpoint? Doesn't Go-Ride stock E13 products? Silly to not adapt to the new standard. Easton will also have a bolt-on stem as well soon. Plus, you can save weight on the crown too. You wont need that 'Dorado-Esque' extension. Scrap that design and start drilling them with the new Boxxer standard please. You'll be doing us all a favor.

The Boxxer mount requires that the crown assembly comes forward and up to avoid the steerer tube. This would be extremely difficult to machine and defeats the goal of having the bars as low as possible. Plus, I think out of spite, we wouldn't make something compatible with the Boxxer just out of pride ;D Just kidding. Sort of.

Also it doesn't make sense to make our aftermarket stem assembly compatible with competing aftermarket stem assemblies. You don't see Race Face designing their Diabolous stem to work with an Azonic Shorty face plate, you know what I'm saying? Although technically the e-13 and other Boxxer stems aren't even competing parts since they're for a different fork. Anyway, not gonna happen, I see why you think it's a good idea but I disagree.

Can you guys make a top crown for a Dorado that allows 31.8mm oversized bars, please!

Looks great. You guys have addressed another market demand unfilled by marzocchi.

Will the stem fit your lowriders? Will the stem be available separately? How many ducket$$$?

I can understand why you don't want to be consistent with the boxxer "standard" but please tell me I don't need to buy another top crown (from you) if I want to buy a shorter stem (from you). That would be just too...well...shimanoesque.

Inquiring minds want to know. Maybe an exchange and a set fee? Or maybe we send the top crown to you and you have it remachined for the stem? I really dont want to buy another top crown just to run your stem.

:) :) :) :) :)

do you want him to come over and do your laundry too? vacuum your living room maybe?

since when are companies expected to exchange products for free just so you can have the latest and greatest item on your bike?

They are not expected to. I just wonder if the original can be altered. Or maybe if the new stem will bolt on to the existing holes. I was just throwing ideas out. It was a joke. I guess I should have added a few smiley faces. :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Well...
Really there's no way to mount the stem to our old top crown. We originally made a cool stem that mounted the way the Zoke one did that would fit all 888 crowns. But it sat on top of the crown and therefore raised the bars another 1/2" or so. No one here wanted one for themselves so we scrapped it and made the new crown. We have no intentions of getting rich selling these.Nor did we think we would sell many crowns originally. We made the new top crown for ourselves and made a few axtra, just like the original ones.
Anyway if you bought our first set we will make those people a deal on the new one.
Thanks,Krispy

I must be missing something...I looked at the pics and the lower part of stem sits on top of the new crown. There is very little material to raise the bar, definitely not 1/2". If the bolt pattern matched why couldn't it go on the original set?

Am I just slow or what? (Goes for more coffee.)

Anyway that is very cool of you to offer some kind of a deal for those of us with the original set.

OK imagine putting the stem halves on a piece of metal that is the same thickness as your top crown and then put it on,on top of your existing crown. The piece of metal is about 1/2" thick to be strong enought to support you. What we did was scrapped the 1/2 piece and built it into the crown as an extention of the crown. Not it's lower, lighter and more simple than before.
I will take a pic of the original stem we made and post it.If enough people like it then we could make some!

Here's some images of the original stem we were going to make that is compatible with our original top crown as well as the stock crown. You can see how it sits about 3/4" taller than the new coolguy stem, the stock stem is the same way.

Since we do pretty small quantities of our machine work, if any of you guys want us to do the stem for the old top crown, I'm sure we could.

Thanks for that James, I knew I was missing it...my bike's not at work here and I couldn't visualize it, I kept thinking the original is more like a dorado crown but your pic clears it up.

GO-Ride's website says 31.6mm OS standard, rockymt21 say 31.9mm. We can all agree that the true size is 31.8mm right :D

Nice crown guys I'm sure you will sell a ton of them. It is the best option that's for sure....
