Hello everyone awhile back I got into mt biking and my first ride was the 1990's cup track (amazing by the way). I have a 2000 specialized rock hopper..the back shock is fox my fronts aren't tho and no disk brakes. What do you recommend for upgades. I ride downhill and I have a fox ramp age helmet...thank you

ya mine is like that but older modle soooo no disk brakes...and it has mounts for them on the front but not the back..wtf?..so im making this work for now but im looking into getting a new bike befor too long, any suggestions?

10 years old? don't bother upgrading anything

chances are...you spend $$$ upgrading and then crack the frame a few months later

makes much more sense to invest in a brand new 2010 bike than put new parts onto an old frame

ive been looking at the specalized epic comp because i ride mostly downhill but money is tight these days

if you ride downhill try and pick up a Specialized Big Hit III or similar

if you want to ride some DH and also pedal about on XC trails look at the Specialized Pitch range

Epic would not be a good choice for dh. Pitch for xc/dh (all mountain) or bighit for dh are great suggestions for cheap/good bikes.
