So I ordered a splined crank and bottom bracket. Then I'm looking in the catolog and see a BBT-8 splined bracket tool.

Crap now I have to pay shipping on this damn thing? I guess you have to have the BBT-8 for these splined cartridges?

are you excatly ordering ,is it the one for the cup`s ,or for the lock ring ,and excatly which Bottom bracket are you using

For ES-70 BB, XT Splined cranks.

So I thnk the ES-70 can be installed with the BBT-2 is this right??

No. I used my old tool to install mine. The inside of the cups still has the old splined pattern as well as a notched outfit on the flanges.

The cranks have a self extracting bolt but not all XT's do. You might need a new crank removal tool. Or the button that goes on the end of the spindle and use the old crank puller.

Well I got the old style BBT-2 tool in my box and I bought the splined crank puller by mistake over a year ago, so it looks like I'm all set for splined cranks!
