I have a 2007 specialized Enduro S-Works. It comes with the Fox DHX 5.0 Air. i like it for regular riding, but I love the feel of the spring during more Downhill / Light Freeride sessions. So I was thinking of getting a DHX 5.0 Coil as a second shock, so I can replace it depending ton the riding i'll be doing. Has anyone done this? Is it worth it? I guess my main concern is if the coil will clear the frame?

The only thing to watch out for is clearence of the boost valve on the frame. On the stock DHX air, the valve should be shorter or blanked off.

The spring coil itself will clear the frame. The boost valve will be pretty tight (OEM DHXs on the Enduros did away with the air valve for this reason). The other thing, though, is that it's an odd size to find a shock (8.75 x 2.5). Most likely, you will find 8.75 x 2.75, which will give you a little more travel, but will also result in a tiny bit of interference between the link and your frame at full compression. The most simple solution is to add a few mm of spacers behind the bottom out bumper, though others have Dremmeled the link a bit so that it does not hit.
