Is SRAM no longer making disc brakes?

Would it be a pain in the ass to find replacement pads for their SRAM 9.0 Hydraulic Disc brakes?

Saw a set at what looks to be a great price, but I would hate to get stuck with a set of brakes where I couldn't get replacement pads.

LOL - SRAM didn't ever really "make" disc brakes, actually, if you look close, you can see where they crossed out "grimeca" and wrote "sram" with a Sharpie.

You can use XT (755, not the new xtr-style ones) pads/springs, or Grimeca (System 8) pads/springs on those brakes. And levers, hoses, etc etc.

Is this so? And if so, how are the brakes? did you run em is that how you know the scoop?

And is $200 for a complete set a good deal or no?

Yes, it is so (not the part about the Sharpie, but they are re-badged Grimecas though). The brakes are okay, I owned a set of Grimeca S8s which were pretty good. Nothin to write home about, just like the XTs with steel braid lines (effectively the same thing as well). SRAM was pretty open about who made them when they came out, it was fairly common knowledge.

200 is not really a "good deal", I wouldn't pay that much for 'em. You can get a new set of M755 XTs for that, with black plastic lines, which will be much much better. I doubt people are selling Grimeca System 8s for that much these days, and they're the same so why pay more?

Muchos Gracias sir!

I'll steer clear of them then. :)
