So I killed my X0 short cage and want a new derailer, being that the X0 is quite a bit more money that the force I would like to try the force. Alot of people have been running the road derailers with shimano stuff, but I want to stick with sram and get a super short cage. Can it be done?

How the f*ck would anyone know if a derailleur available only to road teams in a limited fashion can be used on your POS?

Why don't you call the head mechanic for Sierra-Nevada and ask him?

NO, it won't work with the mountain shifters. Their roady and mountain shifters pull different amounts of cable.

The Force gruppo doesn't have the same 1:1 actuation that the mountain stuff has, but it's meant to run on a 10 speed casette rather than a 9. I think that there is some chance it could work-- I bet you that the different cable pull rate is because of the different number of cogs, not a different design.
