What video formats are supported on the typical off-the-shelf Mac? I assume .mov (quicktime) - anything else?

I need to put some vids on the web for work and I'm trying to figure out what formats to go with.

Video formats don't really differ between systems. Macs even support WMV files... it's more about the video players than anything else.

MPG is fine.

Quicktime

.mov, mpg, MPEG-4, and H.264 are the most popular.

like BV said, WMV and RealPlayer will work just fine too, you just have to download those programs.

QuickTime (which comes pre-installed on Macs) supports all the standard video formats. Mpeg4 is pretty ubiquitous now.

Right. That whole list I gave was straight off of Apple's website. .mov, mpg, MPEG-4, and H.264 are the most popular standard, off-the-shelf mac video formats.
