Currently hooked on the Witcher. Loved the last game and really enjoy the show so far. Not sure on some of the casting choices, but I'll roll with it
^What he said.

Some changes/condensed bits from the books, but well done. The authors are fairly heavily involved afaik, which helps.

We just finished The Witcher. Was pretty good. Never played the game/read the books, but enjoyed the first season quite a bit.
Knocked out all 8 episodes of The Witcher yesterday and today. Thought it was pretty damn decent. Great ending, looking forward to season 2.

what was really weird was the lack of "magic".

I remember a time when watching a star wars film on openning day meant packed theaters, long lines, people dressed in costumes, kids with lightsabers cheering on some scenes.

There was none of it. The theater wasnt even full, nobody dressed up, zero lightsabers, a few empty seats... and some people even showed up late and joined the movie. It was just another movie.

Just watch this on your phone while standing in line.

Then go completely miss the urinal while taking a piss in the bathroom then jerk off to a picture of Leah in a bikini in a shitter. Full on Star Wars experience right there.

Finally saw Skywalker tonight, totally blown away with how good it was. Not that it didn't have it's flaws, but on the whole, really, really good.

They tried to cram too much in one movie, but overall was entertained. Even with it's glaring flaws I enjoyed it more than TFA or TLJ.
To be fair, I think at least half of the crap they crammed into this movie would have been in TLJ had they not gone to the stupid casino planet and rode horseys, and a quarter of it was spent unfucking all the stupid story lines Johnson started or changed solely for the sake of not doing what we all expected. Not letting JJ Abrams do all 3 was a big mistake, the story almost makes more sense if you ignore TLJ entirely.

Also, I'm back on board with the Mandalorian. The episode on Tatoine kinda lost me, I liked the prison-ship raid episode but I didn't do much to make me care about the show, but episode 7 and 8, yes! Can't wait for season 2, and the Obiwan show, not sure when we'll get the next movie trilogy, but I imagine it'll be a long ways down the road.

Just saw. Thought it was good, and compared to the last one (a confused mess), it was a masterpiece. Couple of eye-roll moments, but they got it right, and I really appreciated a lot of the way they did it.

Saw it last night. While it was good, and wrapped up a bunch of loose strands, i found the ending was a little too "pablum". a little darkness and ambiguity goes a long way. Why do the good guys always win in the movies nowadays?!

I also found it left the door open for more sequels. Seems to me that after 9 (or 12) movies, they could maybe give it a rest? Try something else new now?

Lando is going to have his own movie soon, I'd wager...

I have to say JJ Abrahams did much better than I expected, given the setup/limitations of the previous movie.
Even if they had to sacrifice some coherence, cram a bit too much too fast and give in to fan service for the sake of fixing the mess left from the previous movie, I´d say JJA did a great job,.

Just rewatched Solo on Netflix. I think you're right.

Also, I hadn't caught on before, but wasn't Solo after Revenge of the Sith? Isn't Darth Maul supposed to be dead?

Yes, Rebels, Clone Wars, Rogue One, that is some good entertainment. The wildly ridiculous of the other movies just gets tiresome IMO. Like the starkiller base only being able to scrounge up about 5 tie fighters, or the gigantic star destroyer evidently only having 2 turbolasers with the only backwards-cannon tie fighter ever. I know, you are just supposed to "let go" and "feel the force" or whatever, but the entertainment value with the animated series is pretty high IMO. There's a hell of a lot more morals and good lessons in the original Clone Wars serious too than in the Bible.
