Maul is my favorite character from star wars
He seems to me like an unrealized character. They got the visual down but that seems as far as they really went.Maul is my favorite character from star wars
Sounds like you need to watch The Clone Wars.He seems to me like an unrealized character. They got the visual down but that seems as far as they really went.
The expanded on him in Clone Wars and Rebels. He seems to me like an unrealized character. They got the visual down but that seems as far as they really went.
For as much hate as Disney gets, Lucas really fucked up those prequels. He seems to me like an unrealized character. They got the visual down but that seems as far as they really went.
i've thought on this a bit, and in light of watching the clone wars series, probably the biggest underlying issue is that lucas was trying to tell too much story for 3 movies. also jar jar binks. For as much hate as Disney gets, Lucas really fucked up those prequels.
i read recently that in an early version of the script, grievous was going to be revealed as maul (who survived)Maul shoulda been the Vader of the prequels, killed Quigon and been back for Attack of the Clones, instead we got that half robot guy and Count Dookie, neither hold a candle to Maul.
That's a a really good point.i've thought on this a bit, and in light of watching the clone wars series, probably the biggest underlying issue is that lucas was trying to tell too much story
special effects razzle dazzle aside, one thing about the prequels (esp eps 2 & 3) is that they are all over the place, they just show up on a new planet with no context as to where and why they're there. That's a a really good point.
Movies want to leverage special effects and "do everything". The problem is it just goes past the point of being probably/possible in the universe they've created (the story) and it tries to fill in too much. That balance of mystery that keeps the audience guessing is what the original movies had and now that you can just "do anything" with special effects, it leads the producers down that road and removes half the experience.
Maul is such a complex and tragic figure. You understand why he does what he does. The Clone Wars and Rebels really developed that character well. The expanded on him in Clone Wars and Rebels.
Some of the best star wars arcs feature him
What do you expect when you name your kid Darth MaulMaul is such a complex and tragic figure. You understand why he does what he does. The Clone Wars and Rebels really developed that character well.
Man, just wait until you see the sequels!special effects razzle dazzle aside, one thing about the prequels (esp eps 2 & 3) is that they are all over the place, they just show up on a new planet with no context as to where and why they're there.
Did not expect such a good episode from the bad batch, not this week.Bad Batch was also amazing tonight.
It was good. I enjoyed. But then again I would enjoy watching dog crap steam if it said Star Wars over it.It's MANDO day! Who watched it?? I'll watch tonight....unless the wife is interested, in which case I'll need to wait until she is home.
I've been picking away slowly at Bad Batch and am only halfway through season 1. Sounds like I need to catch up.Bad Batch was also amazing tonight.
wait till you see ep 2.Finally saw season 1 episode 3 of Mando, I give it .3 out of 5 stars. Felt like a live action version of a Clone Wars episode, which I know people love but it's just too kid-show-ish for me to get into.
First season was pretty meh for me. But 2 was very good and 3 so far is super duper goodDo things get better, or worse in Ep2?
wait do you mean season 3 episode 1?Finally saw season 1 episode 3 of Mando
you say that like its a bad thingFelt like a live action version of a Clone Wars episode
which seasons of the clone wars series have you watched? i agree with that statement for the first 2-3 seasons of clone wars, season 4 is when it started to get good. the final season was actually kinda dark if you follow the story arcs.which I know people love but it's just too kid-show-ish for me to get into.
Oh yeah, I meant the new one S3, Ep1.wait do you mean season 3 episode 1?

honestly you can skip the first two seasons. start at season 3. not as good as subsequent seasons, but there are some stories / events that you'll need for setup for subsequent seasonsGot most of the way through season 1 of clone wars and just couldn't hang with it. Maybe I just didn't get far enough into it for it to get good, but new Mando has the same feel to me.
