Hi all. I just picked up my Monocog 29er and am going to take it to the trail tomorrow. What is a good starting pressure to run my tires at? I'm 230# and will be riding rolling XC(Center trail for those Iowans). I currently have it set at 44lbs front and rear. It feels pretty good tooling around the house but don't know how it will do on the trail. So I'm looking for some advice.

check the pressure recomedtations on the sidewall, run the middle to the lower end of that, and see how it work,s then adjust it if you dont like it.

Thanks for the replies. I was pretty happy with 44. I think I could go down to 40 safely enough. I don't think I bottomed the tire out on the rim a single time.

I think I will take this opportunity to say that SS 29ers f'n rock! I can't wait to hit the trail again with this bike.

I'm 210 and run 25 pounds F&R in Washington State without pinch flats. Try running 35 F&R. Running Stan's NoTubes also helps out a bunch too.
