Having interesting time in Thailand as I was in Phuket when the wave hit the island. The story so far...
My hotel was washed away but I had left half an hour earlier to go out diving. When the wave hit we were out in deep water on the dive boat and new nothing about it. Only found out when we came back from first dive and had to go back to harbour and transfer to a Thai navy boat to come back to shore.
Towns here a total mess. Lots of looting has gone on. Including I suspect the hotel safe in which my passport and tickets were. I have to get a new passport and flight tickets. Spent yesterday at a make shift consulate set up to get everyone enough papers to go to Bangkok. When we fly to Bangkok on 29th have to go to embassy and get a new passport. Then have to see how understanding the US is as my working visa was also in the passport...
