Braving torrential downpours and riding with a badly injured leg, Steve managed a 3rd place finish at the second Canadian stop of the World Cup tour. This put him 263 points ahead of Australia’s Sam Hill in the standings with one final race to go. And with a maximum of only 250 points available in Italy, Steve has already secured his position as 2004 World Cup Champion.

thats from race faces offical site. ohh yeh way to go peaty.

i made this thread for opinions and comments so go crazy guys and as alway bike hard.

Doooood, because Minnar races for Honda, he sold out. Totally. What a douche. :nope:

He is making a living off of riding mountain bikes. That is more than enough for me

and i apologize for calling a guy who rides for a car company on a bike that isnt seen anywhere else but between gregs legs and in the pits. and geese hes only got 3 japanesse ENGINEERS following him around to work on the bike. now if you ask me thats kinda overkill. and in my book that kinda makes you a sellout. or maybee its just the fact that im stocked that peaty one cause hes the man. :D :thumb:

ohh and you cant leave out the fact that peaties team was just him and his mechanic. gregs team consited of the engineers and the mechanics plus the financle backing of honda. man there ****ing loaded but this is just one mans opinion. so if you dont agree you dont agree. thats what makes this place so great.

If Honda offered you a free bike and a wad of money and all that race support, would you turn it down?

I didn't think so. Making a living is not selling out.

granted i probly wouldnt turn it down. but i wouldnt turn one down from orange or anywhere else. i just think that he has way to much of an advantage and that this shows that little japanesse people cant make everything. even though it is an awsome bike. but keep the opinions flowing this is getting good.

So we can assume you've ridden this honda bike and have also ridden all the competitor bikes and know for a fact that the honda bike gives its rider an advantage over the others huh...

Minaar raced NORBA so he was never in the running for the overall WC. You obviously have issues with Sam, but don't have the guts to address it here except to make allusions to him being a "sellout."

Wow, I take back what I said earlier in this thread about all teachers getting paid more. Your teacher should give her entire salary back and get a job at Hooters.

Do you know why Peaty or any other top pro is not riding for Honda?
Because they asked Minaar to first.
He proved himself with some sick results in '03, and got awarded with the top dog slot. Don't hate, appreciate. Or at least learn how to spell it.

mate, how is riding for one of the all time great race teams selling out

and if minnaar actually raced all the world cup rounds you could then possibly start a stupid debate about how steve beat greg, but as he didnt, you cant. in fact greg beat steve on steves home turf at the beginning of this season, so who knows what wouldve happened if minnaar wouldve raced all the world cups.

tip... stop being a fool and people may like you :thumb:

and that little minds cant come up with intelligent statements and opinions.

also you should check out what "selling out" actually means. Opinions are meaningless if you dont know how to properly use the english language to express them.

yeah sure you have the right to state your opinion. now revel in the fact that in so doing, you've reduced your credibility from low to sub-zero.

so, let me get this straight, what sort of point are you trying to make here?

a) "holier than thou" fundementalistic "sports puritan"

or

b) straight out racist?

People who ride bicycles can't sell out. Don't make me explain it!

OMGWTFBBQ!!! Three enjineears!! Minarr is teh total seloout!!!11!one!

One would assume you weren't alive or riding bikes when all the big factory teams fronted at the World Cup with rigs and support staff that were on a par with the effort Honda is putting into their new bike and rider this year.

okay i appologize for all that i said and obviously should have got a smigin more facts before i made the comments that i did but geese engineers following him. that bike has to be complicated to have engineers help the mechanics work on it or are there no mechanics. well that just shows how much i know lol. peace and sorry again.

Hahaha.....I love the "Minarr is teh total seloout!!!11!one!", that made me giggle like a little school girl.

So, it's bad to have engineers, wow....so what bike do you ride that has never been touched by an engineer? Really, you get mad at Darren at Push Industries for working with the pros to dial their bikes? I mean really, you came of kinda ignorant, first dissing someone in our sport with a support team (it would be great to see more of this) and then to go on and generalize a whole group of people? I know it’s your opinion and that is great, but next time think about what you say.....maybe you won't piss people off.

Well said! The explanation can not be more perfect than that. Thank you for helping (hopefully) to remedy someone's problem with overuse of the phrase "sellout"

Dude, compare that to any other kind of world-level vehicular racing. Everyone else (who doesn't ride bikes) would be going "only three?", not screaming profanities at the deity of their choice for allowing somebody to SELL OUT to a team that can actually afford to pay mechanics and stuff...
