The title says it all, my rear brake lever feels sticky, when you press it, it doesn't get back to its original place (doesn't "spring" back in place). I wonder what's the reason for this to happen and what to do to solve it.

The brake is a el camino

thnx

Check for obvious things like a bent lever or corrosion around the pivot or the barrel nut (reach adjuster) If that's ok then start looking inside the master cylinder for bent piston, crushed spring, etc. You should be able to get a rebuild kit for it.

If your a not comfortable working on hydraulic brakes they can be sent back to Hayes for repair.

How long have you had the brakes? My hayes stroker trails took a while before the stiction disappeared. 8 rides later they feel friggin awesome.

If you just got it back from them I'd give Hayes a call. Unless something got damaged in shipping it shouldn't be like that.

it might be the push rods. Same thing happened to my ec. easy repair, check the hayes web site for instructions. You need snap ring pliers, 2mil allen wrench, bleeding kit. By the way, The hayes bleeding kit sucks, get your self a 30 cc syringe to pump the fluid into your system.
